Family tradition

Since 1789 owns the family Lutzenburger their company in Mainburg. In the 19th century the business was focused on the spirit- and liqueur-production, but also on the prduction of beer and lemonades. While beer and lemonde became "industrial" products, the manufacturing of liqueur was kept in the company.

The recipe for the Hallertauer Hopfengold is a secret - only known by the members of the family. Today the company is managed by two generations: Ilse Lutzenburger is responsible for customers and her son Hans-Peter Lutzenburger for the production.

Hop and beer tradition

The years 1040, 1050 and 1131 mark the founding of the oldest brewery, monastic brewery and private brewery and therewith the history of beer - here in the Hallertau. Even the oldest food law in the world still in force today - the beer purity regulation enacted in Ingolstadt in 1516 had its precursor in the Hallertau.

No wonder - because the end product (beer) is largely manufactured beside the raw material (and this is also hop).
